Embedded Images in Kindle iPad

Take a look at the screenshot below. It is a screenshot of Kindle for the iPad. If you look carefully, you will notice that the background isn’t quite white so that the embedded image does not blend in. Ideally, I would want embedded images to have transparent backgrounds so that they would blend no matter the background color. However, I would like to at least have them display nicely on white backgrounds.
Interestingly enough, the white background works fine in iPhone and PC clients. But for some reason Kindle for the iPad has a slightly shaded white background. This bothers me to no end.

Just asked about this in the Kindle forum after noticing it, today. It looks terrible, and there doesn’t seem to be a solution if Google is to be trusted. It’s the sort of detail that’s going to drive me crazy until I can fix it.
